After quite a few years of planning and refining. I’m proud to announce that Arctic Circle Radio is here!

You’ll be able to hear what is inspiring the AC on a weekly basis in two new shows – The Hut (me and a bunch of mp3s) and The Circle (a guest artist from the AC world compiling a weekly mix).

How do you listen? Well you can listen now by downloading the pocast. Scroll down to the show you want to hear and either press the play icon or click on the download link. Or you can listen every Tuesday night to Chill (on your digital radio) at 10pm to hear the latest shows. Simple eh?

Edition 28 – Rotary Mix by Missaw: For this mix I wanted to explore the more atmospheric end of our collective’s sonic footprint and have included as much new and forthcoming music as I could. Many of the tracks in the mix will likely never be released formally so it’s been a true pleasure to compile and blend them together for The Circle.

Edition 24 – Mix by Ian Hawgood/Home Normal: I didn’t really have any great plan for the mix, just wanted to highlight how the year has panned out for Home Normal with some of my favourite tracks from the great releases we have been so lucky to put out. I also wanted to include tracks from our next five releases – these were supposed to be in the 2009 schedule but for various reasons, were delayed. The works by Konntinent, L/M/R/W, Chihei Hatakeyama, offthesky and myself are out in January through to February. I wanted to kick off and end with two tracks from my release as its a reworking/remix/collaborative record, starting off with some beautiful work with Federico Durand who we will be releasing in April/May, ending with Danny Norbury who of course appeared on the Library Tapes ‘Sketches’ release and is a member of Le Lendemain (also with David Wenngren). From that sense it has a nice time-line connection I suppose, but ultimately, listening and making this mix just highlights what an incredible year we have had. I came up with finalised concept for Home Normal exactly a year ago from the date of the show I think. Its great to be having the show with The Boats, Danny Norbury, Konntinent, Isnaj Dui and Home Normal friend and future artist, Simon Scott, concluding the year for us. Pretty remarkable really.
